java - What does this Path "file:///Users/..." mean? -


a path constructor example java tutorial:

path p3 = paths.get(uri.create("file:///users/joe/filetest.java"));

what part uri.create("file:///users/joe/filetest.java") means? i'm not familiar uri synctax

it means file:// i.e file @ /users/joe/filetest.java.

similar other protocols, http:// , ftp://, path starts / looks little odd.
