What is the meaning of the terms "buffer" and "window" in vim? -

hi i'm new vim , don't know buffers , windows are. can't find tutorials on how understand these two, here questions:

  1. what buffer , how differ window?
  2. what can buffer used for? , window (i'm assuming it's editing only)?
  3. where can find tutorial on how use buffers , windows?

does answer question?

buffer in-memory text of file. window viewport on buffer. tab page collection of windows. window viewport onto buffer. can use multiple windows on 1 buffer, or several windows on different buffers. buffer file loaded memory editing. original file remains unchanged until write buffer file.

i think best tutorial vim's file.
