New Wordpress media uploader tool, featured images, and plugin interactions -


the new wordpress media uploader tool introduced in 3.5 causes problems few plugins, including massive 1 developed.

the problem manifests this:

  1. new media uploader installed part of upgrade 3.5
  2. no longer possible add/save featured image

disabling plugin x fixes problem.

my problem that, while know plugin x causes problem, no errors thrown in php or javascript, don't know issue arising fix plugin.

i read elsewhere (ref lost) caused conflict plugins use jquery ... comment did not jquery actions conflict featured image.

i notice wordpress ajax url returns empty json object when plugin enabled. when disable plugin, json object properties of uploaded image returned.

any ideas?

the problem in plugin listening ajax calls in wp-admin area, , interfering ajax calls being made featured image tool. preventing plugin listening ajax calls in wp-admin area solved problem.
